Joining the Hamilton Model Aero Club

News Flash : So you are new to HMAC and to our National Association, Model Flying NZ. If you are joining for the very first time you can now join for FREE for up to the first 15 months. Please contact the treasurer for further details about the free membership conditions.

(There is also Free membership for club members returning after a three year absence from HMAC & MFNZ)

So you would you like to join up?…..Yes

Then it’s pretty easy. The Club requires two forms filled out for EACH individual NEW member (ie one copy of each form, for each family member joining). The first is for your membership to the Hamilton Model Aero Club. The other ensures your registration with the NZ national body (Model Flying New Zealand), who coordinate national modelling events, provide automatic insurance cover for individual member fliers at registered flying sites and publish the “Flier’s World” magazine along with many other benefits.

BOTH forms (links below) must be completed for each NEW family member applying to join.

Please download both forms, print out, fill out and sign each form and return to the Club Treasurer at the postal address below (See News Flash above – Free subs for new Members). Alternatively, complete the forms, save/scan and email them to the treasurer or come along to a club night and join up there.

Note, HMAC Subs include your affiliation fees to our national association, Model Flying New Zealand. There are no other administrative costs to be incurred.

HMAC Subs 2026-2027 are as follows for Existing Members:

Subscriptions & renewals are for the period 1st April 2026 through 31st March 2027. Existing members must renew their membership before 1st April 2026 to continue flying at HMAC or other MFNZ club venues. Note, fees include your Affiliation fee to Model Flying NZ (our national body)

Senior R/C: $215 ( now from 26 years of age or greater at 1st April )

Family R/C: $225   ( includes partners & immediate junior family members up to and including age 25 as at 1st April )

Retired R/C (70yrs+):  $195

Free Flight & Control Line:   $145

Junior   $Free:  (under 26 years of age)

Associate (all flying)  $80  (joined with MFNZ through another Club)

Newsletter/Club Night & Non Flying membership $25

The Club subscription year is from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2027. All membership fees must be paid prior to 1st April 2026 for the coming subscription year.

Existing members may pay by Bank Funds Transfer to the following account: 03-0314-0215645-00. Please include your name details and subscription type. An email to the treasurer ( alan48linda47@gmail.com )  to let him know you have paid is also helpful.  You may also pay by visiting your local bank and completing a bank deposit.  Note, make sure they include your name in the deposit notes.

Monthly Club Night Meetings

These occur on the 2nd Wednesday of February, May, July, September & December.  Venue is the Beerescourt Bowling Club Rooms, 68A Maeroa Road (behind the tennis pavilion)
