The Ngatea Nockout.
"Any Plane, Any Pilot, Any Ability".

(Before I offend anybody, that includes helicopters)

Weekend of Feb 11-12 2012 at the Blackfeet Flyers strip, on the Hauraki Plains. -37.324091,175.445555

Join us for a fun filled weekend of flying and related goodness. Centrally located between Auckland, Tauranga and Hamilton, so perfect for the northern/central modellers, but of course modellers from all over the country are welcome, and invited.
The Blackfeet strip is 100m long, 25m wide, grass over peat. A dedicated area will be set aside for flappy yak and similar low speed, restricted models, otherwise all flyers will utilise and share the runway/pit area.
The Saturday will include the first round of the NZMAA Pylon Race during specific prearranged timeslots.
A transmitter pegboard will be in operation for non-2.4 radios, and it is expected that no more than 5 models will be airborne at once from the main runway except as authorised.
Attendees are welcome to suggest competitions/events to suit themselves. Anything goes, as long as safety is maintained.
Will be a registration fee for pilots to cover event costs, at this stage $5 per pilot.

Acomodation/Facitilites:
Nearby Ngatea has the basics needed to sustain modellers for 48 hours, with a 4Square, bakery, pub and liquor store.
There is one motel and a hotel in Ngatea for the overnighters that prefer a half decent sleep. More accommodation and facilities are available in nearby Paeroa and Thames (20min).
There is no water supply at the club, nor 230V power, and shade is in limited supply, so modellers are expected to be self sufficient for the duration of their time onsite.

Also, very graciously, a non-flying member of the public has offered the use of a piece of land for members to camp over for those that wish to do so, only a few km from the strip. Note that this is NOT a camping ground, but a spare field on their farm. This will allow those who stay over somewhere to pitch a tent (or park a camper) for the night, and unwind with a cold beverage and suitable for night flying, flappy yaks and the like. Water and power are available at the overnight camping location. (No overnight camping is permitted at the Blackfeet strip.)
The club "outhouse" is available, and a portaloo will be onsite at both the strip and the overnight camp.

Feeds:
Depending on feedback/interest, some form of food facilities may be provided.

Commercial:
Model shops, online retailers etc are welcome to bring representation of their business. We would also appreciate and welcome any sponsorship, prizes etc. Please contact Dale about this avenue.
